I’ve been a bit afraid of trying oils. I tend to have oily skin, so I’ve avoided using oily skincare products. However, I’ve recently had a lot of dry skin this winter. It has been an extra cold winter here in South Korea, so I think my skin has been drying up a lot more especially around my chin. So, to protect my skin and give it extra moisture, I decided to try Innisfree’s Olive real Essential Oil Ex.

Application: 8/10

The Olive Real Essential Oil Ex. is simple to use. Just squish the rubber top of the dripper to get the oil into the glass applicator. Then, place drops of oil wherever you want them on your face and rub/tap the oil in. Since the oil is very liquidy, it could drip down your face, so be aware of that because you don’t want it getting in your eye. Believe me…it’ll sting.

Packaging: 9/10

The bottle is small, so it can fit well in any space. On the box the oil bottle comes in, it gives instructions on how to use it and where in your skincare routine to use it in English. Also, even though the bottle is made of glass, it’s really durable. I’ve dropped it about five times and it never cracked once. However, the oil dripper is a bit too short for my liking so it’s a little annoying getting all of the oil out.

Moisturizing: 8/10

It definitely moisturized my skin and helped with my dryness. After a few days of using the Olive Real Essential Oil Ex., the redness from my dry skin lessened. My skin also looked smoother and healthier after a weeks.

Scent: 10/10

I loved the scent of this oil! Even though it’s made from olives, the scent is really citrusy! I loved putting this oil on every morning and night because of the smell. Others may not like it because it’s a little strong, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Feeling: 7/10

Even though I don’t like oily things, this oil was okay to use because it wasn’t too greasy. However, sometimes it would make my skin too oily, so I’d only use it once a day instead of twice a day if my oil was getting out of control.

Final Thoughts & Recommendation:

I think this oil helped out my skin a lot, but I also think my skin had difficulties adjusting to it at first. I would break out a bit at the beginning, but then it disappeared after a few a few days. Would I buy this oil again? Maybe, but I’ll probably only use oils during the harsh South Korean winter. Overall, I give the Olive Real Essential Oil Ex. an 8/10. This oil probably works best for those with dry or dry-combination skin types.

All of my reviews are based off of my own experiences. I’ll never give a high rating on a product if I don’t like it. Even if it’s a popular product, I’ll still call it like I see it.
