This review is of the final Innisfree My Real Pet Mask. Innisfree created the My Real Pet Mask line as a special Lunar New Year promotion. It’s only being sold in stores or on the Innisfree Korean website. I’m not sure how long they’ll be out, so you better act fast and get them if you want one! Check out my reviews of the other four masks here: Husky, Pug, Chihuahua, Beagle

Application: 10/10

  1. After cleansing, use toner to smooth out your skins texture
  2. Unfold and place the mask on the face, avoiding your eyes and mouth
  3. Leave the mask on for 10-20 mintues
  4. After throwing out the mask, gently pat the left over essence into your skin for further absorption

Applying this mask was really easy. It fit well to my face, so I was able to put on the mask quickly.

My Real Pet Mask Dachshund Wearing Mask

Packaging: 0/10

This mask fit more like the Pug and Chihuahua mask in that it was a bit small and didn’t cover my nose well at all. Nonetheless, there was a perfect amount of essence in the package, so I didn’t have to worry about dripping essence everywhere when applying the mask.

HOWEVER!!! The “character” and “worries” sections of the character details really bothered me. I truly believe the product packaging designers and marketing team f*cked up major. With that, I have to score this product much lower because promoting white skin as a desire for people is just messed up. What would you do in a situation like this? Next time I need to be more careful about what I buy. I’m sorry if this post is upsetting to anyone, but it’s also good information to know what not to buy or to be careful about product packaging.

Character Details:

견종: 닥스훈트 (Kind: Dachshund)
나이: 2세 (Age: 2 year old)
성별: 여 (Sex: Female)
특징: 하얀 피부가 로망. (Character: White skin is her desire.[Direct translation]/Brighter skin is her desire.[My nicer translation])…The direct translation is HELLA colorist.
고민: 까만 피부 (Worries: Black skin [Direct translation]/Dark skin.[My nicer translation])…The direct translation is also colorist in my opinion.

My Real Pet Mask Dachshund Packaging

Brightness: 7/10

To be honest, I could see that my skin was a bit brighter/glowing when I took off the mask. My husband even mentioned that my skin looked brighter and looked healthier. So, at least it does what it was made to do. However, it wasn’t a huge change.

Scent: 8/10

The smell of the essence was much better than many of the other masks. I actually quite enjoyed it. It wasn’t chemically like the Pug, Chihuahua, and Beagle masks, so that was a nice surprise. It was a bit sweet smelling mixed with floral notes.

Feeling: 9/10

Also, this mask stayed on much better than the Pug, Chihuahua, and Beagle masks. The essence absorbed well and wasn’t sticky. It also felt so cooling on my face. I think the consistency of the essence helped the mask adhere to my skin a lot better than the other masks mentioned above.

Final Thoughts & Recommendation:

The product worked well and was pretty good overall. However, I just can’t get past the packaging detail. Like seriously, what were you thinking Innisfree? All the other package descriptions were great, but they really f*cked up here. They could have definitely re-worded things better or gone with a different approach. With that, I give this mask a 4/10.

Once again, you can only buy it at an Innisfree shop or on their Korean site. Since this is the last mask review of the My Real Pet Masks, check out the other reviews here: Husky, Pug, Chihuahua, Beagle.

All of my reviews are based off of my own experiences. I’ll never give a high rating on a product if I don’t like it. Even if it’s a popular product, I’ll still call it like I see it.
