Ever want to live it up like you’re rich, but you’re just a filthy commoner? Well guess what, now you can pretend you’re a bougie b*tch for a few hours at Seoul’s Grand Hyatt Hotel. However, it is the Grand Hyatt so be prepared to drop some money, but don’t worry, it won’t break the bank if you prepare enough ahead of time. Plus…TREAT YO SELF!
Actually, my friend and I went to the Seoul Grand Hyatt’s last day of their Winter Dessert Fondue yesterday. Let me tell you…I felt like a princess!!! Don’t worry having missed this event because I’m sure the Seoul Grand Hyatt will offer some other lovely specials similar to this one soon.
In fact, they have Afternoon Tea, and a variety of Tapas and Dessert Buffets you can choose from daily. However, this is only available in their “Gallery.” You can check out the prices, times, and menus of “Gallery” events here.
Seoul Grand Hyatt Gallery, which is located in the lobby of the hotel. It’s easiest to enter through the valet entrance.
Directions Via Subway and Bus:
Go out of exit 2 at Hangangjin (한강진). The bus stop should be right in front of you after you get out of the exit. Take bus 405 for two stops. It’ll say “Grand Hyatt” as the stop.
The desserts with the fondue were AMAZING! I was so amazed with how delicious everything was including my drink. I ordered an “Irish Coffee.”
I was a little bummed out by the fact that I had to order a drink before having the fondue. You’d think that a drink would be included, but then again, it is the Grand Hyatt so things are pricy. My “Irish Coffee” set me back 14,000won on top of paying for the dessert fondue.
- There weren’t any pairs in the desserts. Many things had to be split or one person had to take the whole pastry.
- Also, there is only one type of chocolate to dip in. It would have been nice to have two or three different types of chocolate.
For two people, it cost 60,000won. HOWEVER! It also includes two scarves or mufflers. The bottom photo includes the prices for some of the Gallery’s permanent food sets.
I had such a great time! I liked how along with the fondue you got to choose a scarf or muffler. I chose the scarf because I use those more and it’s 100% silk. It was really a lavish experience for me. I don’t often spend a lot of money on fabulous things like this, but you have to treat yourself once in a while, right?
Also, the staff was very kind to us. To be honest, I was nervous that maybe they’d treat us rudely because we aren’t rich, high profile, ballers, or anything like that. However, they were all very nice. The woman helping us even got us a bigger table with a view since the fondue set took up more space than or original table.
Final Thoughts & Recommendation:
It’s too late to try this specific event since it’s over, but I know the Seoul Grand Hyatt has other special events that’ll happen in the future. They also have the cool events with afternoon tea at tapas! I’m going to try to go to afternoon tea one day, and I’m considering doing tapas for my birthday.
Anyways, I definitely recommend checking out any of the events being held in the Gallery of the Seoul Grand Hyatt if you want to have a fabulous experience. Don’t worry about arriving early either to events. You can always kill time by having a drink first. I give the Winter Dessert Fondue a 9/10. Hopefully they’ll have it again next year!
