The Himalaya Deep Moisture Cream was my lifesaver this winter. For some reason my skin really dried out, which was surprising since I usually have oily skin. I was gifted this cream by one of my uni. friends because it was too thick and creamy for her skin. I’m always so excited to get things for free hahaha, but initially I was worried it’d be too oily and thick for my skin as well.
It’s super simple to apply this deep moisture cream. After doing all your skincare (I was taught to apply all creams last in my skincare routine), apply the cream on each cheek. Make sure to use a small amount since a little goes a long way because of the cream’s spreadable nature. Also, since the cream is thick, I only used it at night because it would be too thick and oily to layer with makeup for daytime use.
Since I bought this second hand, I’m not sure if an applicator/spatula was included, but it would be really helpful if there was one. The shape of the container was a bit odd, so it was a little difficult getting the remaining cream from the edges. Other than this, the packaging of the cream was great. It is medium sized so it can easily fit in any vanity or cabinet, but it’s too big to fit in regular makeup bags.
*I have the older version of this cream before it was repackaged. I went recently to a Beyond stand and I saw that the new container for this cream is the same size, but the filled in the container with more plastic so that there is now less space for product. It’s really a bummer that the did that because now you get less product for the same price.
As I mentioned before, this cream saved my skin this winter. At times it was blotchy with redness and dry skin, but even after one application of the Himalaya Deep Moisture Cream it had started to clear all that mess up. My skin feels much softer now having used this product for a few months.
I love the scent of this cream! It took me a while to figure out what exactly the scent was since it was citrusy, but slightly different at the same time. It also had a tea smell to it as well. Then I figured the best way to describe it is as lemongrass. Then smell is so relaxing and refreshing to me, but I can see that it might be overpowering for others.
The cream is quite thick and oily, but it’s not sticky. I didn’t mind the feeling of it on my face at night, but it might have bothered me if I had worn it throughout the day since it can feel a little heavy. This cream is good for layering, so apply a small amount first and then more if your skin feels like it needs extra moisturizing.
Final Thoughts & Recommendations:
I highly recommend the Himalaya Deep Moisture Cream to anyone that has super dry skin or who is looking for a good deep moisture cream. It’s a bummer that Beyond has changed the packaging, but the product itself is great and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I give it a 9/10 and I’ll consider buying it for next winter since it’s too thick and oily for me to use during the humid, hot summers here.
