It can be a little difficult finding good non-Korean food in Korea especially outside Seoul. Often foreign restaurants change their food to fit the Korean palate (which of course makes sense since they want to make money), which means the food is usually sweeter than expected. However, occasionally there are hidden gems that offer great food at a good price as well. This Nepali & Indian restaurant is called Bihanee (비하니) and it’s one of the best, if not the best, Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Korea.


Bihanee is located right near Bupyeong Station on the dark blue line 1 going in and out from Seoul and Incheon. It’s really easy to get to, and it’s about a 5 minute walk or less to the restaurant from the station.

How to Get There:

Exit 8: Come out directly from exit 8. Turn a hard right to go down Gwang Jang 24 street (광장로24번길) for 74m. The restaurant will be on your left.

Exit 7: Come out of the exit and walk straight until you hit Gwang Jang 24 Street (광장로24번길). You should see exit 8 right in front of you. Turn left to go down Gwang Jang 24 Street (광장로24번길) for 74m. The restaurant will be on your left.

I enjoy everything about Bihanee! I love how there are maps of India and Nepal or pictures of Hindi gods and goddesses under the glass tops of the tables. There is one TV that is usually playing clips from Bollywood movies or from famous music videos. When I last ate here, it was the Olympics so that was running. There are also so many pamphlets about traveling to India and Nepal that you can look at near one of the doors. It’s dark and cozy inside. Plus, the owner is very kind and easy to talk to. He can speak English and Korean!



Please forgive me for blurry photos. My camera is quite a potato and I have shaky hands. You can kind of get an idea of what is served at Bihaneei from the pictures below. Price wise, I think they’re great. A lot of other Indian restaurants I’ve been too have been crazy expensive for very little food. I think the amount of food you get and the prices here match up really well.

There are dinner and lunch specials available during different times of the day. There are also quite a few veggie options, which makes it great for those who don’t eat meat or try to eat a little of it. Here are slightly better photos from Naver where you can check out the menu some more.


Food Pictures:

I haven’t had anything here I don’t really like. I LOVE the vegetable Pakuda (those are the eight red disks in the first picture below). They have such a great flavor! They come with two sauces, but I don’t actually know what they’re called…opps…I like the green one the most because it kind of has a cilantro taste, which I really miss. I’m not a huge fan of the red sauce because it’s just your average sweet chili sauce.

Paneer Butter Masala is my friend’s favorite. She’s a vegetarian and this is one of the meatless options you can get.

Final Thoughts & Recommendations:

I enjoy this place a lot. The food is great, the staff is friendly, it’s easy to find, and the prices are great! I will definitely continue to go to Bihanee often. I might even go this weekend! There is a lot of space inside as well for large groups. I’ve been there with a group of about 10 people. You can also make reservations online at the restaurant’s website or call them with the number available on their website. This place is a 10/10 for sure!
