Applying makeup can be a daunting task especially for those who don’t really wear it or have little to no experience with it. I for one don’t usually wear lots of makeup myself since I tend to focus on skincare. HOWEVER!!! I really fell in love with this bb cream foundation. It’s from a company called Soo’AE, but through their New York collection called L.O.C.K COLOR. The L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation BB+ Foundation is light, easy to apply, and it gives enough coverage without feeling like you’ve applied it with a bricklaying knife.
Like any other foundation or BB cream, you can apply L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation with a foundation brush, makeup sponge, or your fingers. The simple tube container makes it easy to place drops of the product to wherever you desire. It also layers quite well so sometimes I don’t even use color corrector under my eyes since the BB cream foundation does such a good job of covering up my dark circles. Lastly, a little goes a long way with this BB cream foundation so just put a little on first and then layer on more if needed.
The packaging of this product is simple and informative. It includes directions, an ingredient list, and a short description of the L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation BB+ Foundation in both English and Korean. The BB cream foundation bottle is made of a soft plastic so it’s easy to squeeze the product out. Also, when you’re almost finished with the product, you can really push the last bit of it out with ease since the bottle is so flexible.
I would say the product has medium coverage. I wear no.5 Medium Buff and I think the coverage of this particular product is perfect for me. As I mentioned before, I usually don’t wear makeup so I like less coverage foundations. If you like more coverage then this BB cream foundation might not be to your liking. In fact, one of my friends also used a lighter shade of this BB cream foundation, but she didn’t like it because it didn’t give her the coverage she was looking for. However, you probably could use it as a concealer if you’d like.
This product works best during cooler months of the year. However, it does last much longer with some finishing powder and setting spray. I noticed it actually stayed on better than some compact cushion foundations I’ve used in the past. Usually I don’t have to reapply unless I’ve been really sweating buckets or been blowing my nose a lot. My nose is in general really oily, so I always make sure to check if I need to touch it up after a few hours of application.
I really enjoy the smell of the L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation BB+ Foundation. It doesn’t have a very strong oder. To me it actually has a slight baby powder scent, but it isn’t very strong. You can’t smell it either once it’s applied so the scent does go away fairly quickly.
The texture is described as “velvety smooth whipped cream” on the box and I somewhat agree. It is very smooth, but I don’t think it feels whipped at all. It definitely melts onto your skin, which is why you should use a little while first applying so you don’t end up with major cake face. It is very shiny, but if you like the “dewy” / “glass skin” look then you’ll probably really like it. A little shine does go away with time as the foundation absorbs into your skin, but I still use some finishing powder to help my face look a little more matte.
Whenever I wear makeup I use the double cleansing method (using two removers to remove makeup, example: oil cleanser and cleansing foam). However, even with this method, there is still a little of the BB cream foundation left on my face so I usually use cleansing water or toner to remove a little more. I highly recommend using a good makeup remover when using this BB cream foundation.
L.O.C.K COLOR also prides themselves with creating makeup that is also good for your skin. Within the L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation BB+ Foundation itself there is Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramide, and Water Soluble Collagen to make sure your skin stays moist and elastic while wearing the product. The other main ingredient is Witch Hazel Water that is used to tighten pores and soothe sensitive skin.
Final Thoughts & Recommendations:
I really liked this product, and I’m already looking forward to getting it again! If you like natural looking makeup, then I highly recommend checking it out. Overall I give the L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation BB+ Foundation an 8/10. Once again, I wear no.5 Medium Buff, which is equivalent to no. 23. What’s great about L.O.C.K COLOR is that they offer 12 different shades of the L.O.C.K IT GOOD Boundation BB+ Foundation.
